Kiroro ski resort is located in Hokkaido, South West from Sapporo City. Due to it’s deep location in the mountains, proximity to the coast and Sea of Japan, Kiroro receives copious amounts of dry powder snow.
Kiroro ski resort is 43km west of Sapporo and 28km from the seaside town of Otaru on Japan’s North Island Hokkaido. Kiroro takes just over 2 hours by road from Sapporo’s Chitose International airport.
Kiroro Ski Resort receives an incredible amount of dry powder snow and being that little closer to the Sea of Japan and north facing some will argue that the snow quality is some of the best in Japan. Regularly Kiroro receives up to 18 metres of snow.
Kiroro is predominately Club Med since they have taken over management of the two principal Hotels, a third accommodation has been introduced more recently called Yu Kiroro, ultra-modern serviced apartments.
Kiroro is ideal for families and couples with its perfect powder, a long ski season and short lift lines, although it can get brutally cold on the upper exposed ski runs during snow storms.

There is not a lot of village facts to talk about due to the main two Hotels under Club Med management which provides an all-inclusive of service.
The resort itself offers good ski schools, Kiroro Snow Activity World for the kids and the “kids at heart” including snowmobiling, tubing, snow buggys, cross-country tours and more.
Kiroro is perfect for either a family vacation due to the relatively quiet nightlife and full-service resort experience, or as a day trip for ski holiday goers staying at other nearby resorts.
