Appi ski resort is located in the very north-east of Japan’s mainland and near the Towada Hachimantai National Park. Appi’s snow quality is exceptional with an abundance of powder snow, as it receives the same storms that pass over Hokkaido.
Established in the Japan bubble era, this glitzy resort is considered one of the better resorts in Japan. Appi hotel complex offers a range of resort facilities.

Frequent cold dry storms move across the Sea of Japan and pass over the Ou mountain range before descending upon the Appi ski resort. There is an impressive 828 meters vertical from peak to base, spread across 282 hectares.
Appi’s facilities include an excellent international ski and mountain guiding school with English speaking instructors/guides, kids activities and kindergarten (from three years), snowmobile land, various cross country courses, dedicated powder areas left ungroomed, Nishimoriyama area accessed by snow cats and lastly snowshoeing and nature tours.
In additional to the many facilties of the Hotel Complex including relaxing spaces, restaurants and bars, the local Appi Kogen Pensione Village is just 5 minutes away by guest Hotel shuttle and here you will find a range of restaurants and Apre opportunities through the village.
