Stopover packages - The Cultural side of Japan

When travelling throughout Japan you may need to purchase a rail pass depending on the amount of time spent travelling and where you are travelling to. The JR rail pass, your gateway to convenient travel as Japan has one of the world’s most efficient rail systems. JR Rail pass provides use of the Japan JR Rail system including Shinkansen (Bullet trains)

The five passes available;

Japan Rail Pass – Covering all of Japan allowing you to travel anywhere on the Japan JR Rail system. Available in 7, 14 or 21 day consecutive days. Categories are Economy or First (green) class. May include some boat and bus networks.

JR East Pass – Specifically for the Eastern half of Honshu, the main island of Japan. Available in 5 or 10 day consecutive passes or a convenient 4 day flexi pass. Categories are Economy or First (green) class.

JR West Pass – Specifically for the Western half of Honshu, the main island of Japan. There are two types including the Sanyo Pass valid for use between Osaka to Hakata and available in 4 or 8 day consecutive passes and the Kansai Pass valid for use between Kyoto and Himeji and available in 1, 2, 3 and 4 days. Categories are Economy only

Hokkaido JR Rail Pass – For us throughout the entire north island of Japan, Hokkaido. Available in 3 or 5 consecutive days. Categories are Economy or First (green) class.

Kyushu JR Rail Pass – For use on all trains operated by JR Kyushu. Available in 3 or 5 day consecutive passes. Categories are Economy only.

Terms – The pass is available to travellers holding a temporary visitors visa and is not available to persons on a working holiday or student’s visa.
