Powder hounds, mark your calendars. Hokkaido’s top resorts are gearing up for another deep winter — here’s what’s confirmed for the 2026–27 season.
Niseko United
Grand Hirafu, Hanazono, Niseko Village, and Annupuri are set to open together on 28 November 2026. Night skiing kicks off on 12 December and runs through to 22 March 2027. Grand Hirafu and Annupuri will have the longest season, staying open until 5 May 2027, while Niseko Village and Hanazono close a little earlier, in early-to-mid April.
Rusutsu
Official 2026–27 opening dates haven’t been confirmed yet. Based on previous seasons, expect lifts to start spinning around late November, with the season typically running through to the end of March.
Furano
Also awaiting official confirmation for 2026–27. Furano is split into two zones that open on different schedules — historically, the main Furano Zone has opened in late November, with the Kitanomine Zone following a few weeks later in December.
Tomamu
Hoshino Resorts Tomamu’s winter season is scheduled to run from 1 December 2026 through early April 2027, with the resort’s famous Ice Village open from 20 December 2026 to 10 March 2027 (planned).
Kiroro
2026–27 opening dates haven’t been announced yet — Kiroro typically confirms details and opens season pass sales in September. Last season, lifts opened on 29 November, so a similar late-November start is likely.
