Whistler and Blackcomb ski resorts - Canada
Whistler and Blackcomb are two huge mountains and are considered to be the premier ski destination in North America. Whistler and Blackcomb are located side by side in the Coast Mountain Range, British Columbia, 38 kms from Vancouver International Airport.
Together these two giants provide 3307 hectares of ski terrain, a lift serviced vertical drop of close to 1,615 m with groomed ski runs up to 11km long, twelve bowls, three glaciers and more than 200 marked trails – steep powder chutes, challenging mogul fields, secluded tree skiing and endless perfectly groomed easy cruising runs.
The new Peak to Peak Gondola travels between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, a journey of just eleven minutes, offering easy access to either Whistler or Blackcomb. This allows skiers to determine the best area to ski on that day. Located at the base of the mountain is the pedestrian only village, which has a vibrant atmosphere and is brimming with shops, restaurants and bars. Whistler-style!
Accommodation is spilt between five areas. Most villages are adjacent to high speed lifts to ensure fast and direct mountain access or a regular shuttle service to the lift base.
