Vail is located just 48 kms east of Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE), and 160 kms west of Denver International Airport (DEN).

Arrival by air

Vail is serviced by both the Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) and Denver International Airport (DEN). EGE has non-stop jet service from numerous major domestic and international cities, and DEN is just two hours east of Vail.

Eagle County Regional Airport

Eagle County Regional Airport is located just 30 minutes from Vail and Beaver Creek. Air Canada, American, Delta and United provide non-stop jet service to EGE from twelve major domestic and international cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York/JFK, Newark, Phoenix, Toronto and Washington D.C.

Located just over two hours from Vail, Colorado's premiere airport offers over 750 daily flights to 180 destinations, including 20 international destinations.

Arrival by car

Getting to Vail by car is simple via Interstate 70. Vail is located in the central Rocky Mountains of Colorado, just 100 miles west of Denver and just 30 miles east of Eagle.

Vail is accessed by three exits off of I-70. The main Vail exit is 176. Upon exiting I-70, navigate to the south side of the interstate, where you will find Vail's main roundabout. From here, you can easily navigate Vail Village parking structures to the east or Lionshead parking structures to the west.

Getting around Vail

By Bus

The Town of Vail buses are free and run regularly, connecting the East and West Vail destinations with Vail Village and Lionshead Village. Explore bus lines connecting the East Vail, West Vail, Sandstone and Golf Course neighborhoods to Vail Village and Lionshead Village, or use the in-town shuttle to travel easily between Golden Peak, Vail Village and Lionshead Village.

By Foot

With a broad network of picturesque, heated cobblestone streets, getting around could not be easier. With intimate walkways closed off to cars, Vail's pedestrian villages set the stage for a luxurious shopping experience or the chance to stroll and appreciate the village atmosphere. Explore Vail Village, Lionshead and Golden Peak to get to know each village’s distinct culture and enjoy its world-renowned shopping, dining and entertainment.
