Mt Hutt / Methven - New Zealand

Mt Hutt / Methven is located in the middle of New Zealand's south island and approx 70 klms from Christchurch, its gateway city.

Over the years Methven has developed into a true ski town, it is a quaint town with a personal feel about the place and surrounded by lots of farmland and beautiful scenery. The town centres around to main pubs/hotels called the brown and blue pubs, there is a variety of accommodation places, shops, restaurants and infastructure.

It is a great option for families, couples and people who are on a bit of a budget as it is cheaper to fly into Christchurch and then only a short drive to the resort/mountain. It is also favoured by hard core skiers as Methven is situated within a 1½ - 2½ hour drive from some other areas worth visiting, Craigieburn, Mt Cheeseman and in particular; Porters Heights.
