Deep Powder Tours

Las Lenas ski resort - Argentina

Las Lenas is one of the most isolated major ski resorts in the world, Las Leñas is harder to get too and more expensive for that reason, but offers great terrain, snow and ambience.

Las Lenas offers huge off-piste potential for expert skiers and riders  that are equipped with back country gear, avalanche beeper etc. and a medium amount of intermediate cruising for others, all above treeline in a high altitude resort.

There are just a couple of discos but they fire up late and finish after daybreak, so do as the locals do and get in siesta mode if you like to party. The nightlife kicks on till dawn at a couple of disco bars.

The isolation makes getting there expensive, with charter flights from Buenos Aires on Saturdays the most practical. It is very popular with backpacking North Americans who find beds in share apartments and/or staff accommodation and wait for the good days. So it's a bit of lottery going for a week for anyone on a short holiday break, but when it's good it's great. Ski Weeks run Saturday-Saturday.
