Onsens
Apart from the Onsen in the resort, nearby Matsukawa Onsen is accessible by bus and here you will find a more natural Onsen, with a milky white colour which indicates sulphur is in the water, great for your skin.
Night life
There are several different kinds of restaurants and a couple of bars in the resort premises. Nearby Morioka city is accessible by bus, where you can cruise locals at restaurants and bars. The city is full of entertainment.
Food
Types of food you can get in the resort are Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Western, Italian, French and Indian. Iwate prefecture where Appi is located, is known for its seafood and wagyu beef.
Money
Restaurants in the hotel complex accept credit cards but none of the restaurants on the mountain do, we highly recommend that you take some Japanese yen with you. If you need to take money out, a post office is located a five-minute walk from Morioka city train station that has ATM facilities.
Weather
If you want the best snow in the world you need to be prepared - it can get cold at Appi Kogen as it is located so far north in Japan. Take plenty of warm clothing and prepare for minus temperatures, thermals are a must, a warm neck gaitor to protect your face and a good pair of double lense goggles.
