Appi Kogen Japan
Appi Kogen ski resort is located in the very north-east of Japan's mainland and near the Towada Hachmantai National Park.
Appi Kogen ski resort's snow quality is excceptional, with an abundance of light dry powder. Storms move across the Sea of Japan and pass over the Ou mountain range before descending upon the Appi Kogen ski resort.
With 828 meters vertical from peak to base and spread acroos 282 hectares, the resort provides 45klms of groomed runs and operates a high tech lift system totalling 18 lifts; able to carry 28,000 people per hour.
Appi Kogen's facilities include a ski school with English speaking instructors, kids' activities and kindergarten (from three years), as well as a snowmobile land, various cross country courses, nature tours, snowcat tours and snowshoeing.

Weather
If you want the best snow in the world you need to be prepared - it can get cold at Appi Kogen as it is located so far north in Japan. Take plenty of warm clothing and prepare for minus temperatures, thermals are a must, a warm neck gaitor to protect your face and a good pair of double lense goggles.
